About:
Families play a critical role in God’s kingdom and the call to make disciples. They are the primary means God uses to disciple the next generation.
“He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to teach to their children, that the next generation might know them, that the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments.”
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.”
God calls parents to raise their children in the faith, to disciple them, and to instruct them in the ways of His Word. We recognize that this task is a weighty one. It may cause you to feel overwhelmed, fearful and stressed. But we want you to know that you are not alone.
First and foremost, we must remember that we serve a God who is in control and who has a deep and passionate love to provide and care for your children. Secondly, it is our heart at Gashland EPC to come alongside you as parents and help you disciple your children.
Our mission statement for family ministries is “Equip. Disciple. Worship.” We want to equip parents to disciple their children so that God may be worshipped from one generation to the next.
